Materials & Finishes
The matter of a piece.
Every commission begins here, in our library of real finishes, from oak and rare woods to hand-applied lacquer, gold and silver leaf, brushed brass and steel, and mirror. Browse the palette below; the final selection is always confirmed in hand, against your light, dimensions and use.
Finish 01
Oak grain & warmth.
Our core timber, stained across fifteen tones, from pale Natural to near-black Nero, with our linear cuts. Open-grained, warm and finished by hand.
Finish 02
Special Woods rare & figured.
Exceptional veneers for surfaces meant to be noticed: eucalyptus, light and grey koto, walnut, louro preto, sycamore, ebony and birds-eye maple.
Finish 03
Lacquer colour & depth.
Hand-applied lacquer in matte and high gloss, from soft whites and greiges through warm taupes to deep black, by RAL-style reference.
Finish 04
Special Leaf hand-laid shine.
Genuine silver and gold leaf, laid and sealed by hand. A living metallic surface that catches the light.
Finish 05
Metals edge & detail.
Stainless steel and brass in polished and brushed finishes (including smoke, antik and brushed champagne) for bases, inlays and hardware.
Finish 06
Mirror light & reflection.
Mirror glass in clear, grey, bronze and an antiqued finish, for doors, tops and detailing.
Finish 07
Marble vein & depth.
Natural marble, honed to a soft sheen. Four house stones — gold-veined Calacatta Oro, cool Carrara White, dark Emperador and Portuguese Estremoz — with other marbles specified to order, each slab chosen for its own veining.

Stone & upholstery.
Natural stone
Tops and surfaces in marble and stone: Calacatta, Taj Mahal, Dark Emperador, Arabescato, Carrara, Travertine and more. Each slab is chosen individually, so the veining is unique to your piece.
Upholstery & leather
Drawn from our curated houses (Casamance, JAB, Lelièvre, Misia and Aldeco, with full-grain leather from AMS), or specified in your own material (COM / COL). Advised on suitability for each design.
Stone and cloth read differently slab to slab and dye lot to dye lot, so both are always confirmed in physical samples rather than on screen.
Beyond the Palette
Your material, welcome here.
The finishes shown here are our library, not a limit. The true colour and texture of each is only ever resolved in physical samples. We are glad to develop tones and combinations beyond it for a particular room.
Customer's own material
COM and COL are welcome. Specify your own fabric, leather or hide and we will work it into the piece; our team advises on suitability, yardage and detailing for each design.
Indicative on screen
Colour varies by screen, grain and dye lot. Treat these samples as a guide; the matched swatches in your box are the reference for any commission.
Made to order, in Portugal
Every finish is applied by hand for a single commission and delivered worldwide, so the palette can be tuned, mixed and refined to the room it is destined for.
